If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. 1 Corinthians 15:19
It’s important to me not to lose sight of the hope of heaven. I lived the first half of my life having no hope beyond this earthly life. I remember many instances lying at night in the dark, staring at the ceiling wide eyed fearing death, imagining the cold grave and the darkness of nonexistence. Many of my hopes were fulfilled in this life, even some I didn’t have to hope for, but gaining hope for the life that follows is a far greater blessing.
I am just a small dry seed
Waiting for the spring of springs.
A light brighter than all the lights
Bursting through the earthly grime.
In the pasty, somber winter’s grim,
A voice awakens an ancient dream.
Buried deep in every fiber,
Life responds to the Wholly Other.
He calls me to be what I was meant to be.
Arise my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.
