James 1:2-4 (NCV) My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, 3 because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. 4 Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need.
I find that I can be a very patience person when everything goes my way in the time and place that I want. My patience flourishes! Unfortunately, those days are far and few between. Maybe you’ve prayed, “Father, give me patience and give it to me now!” That prayer seldom works. Okay, never works. As you begin your day today, quietly come before God. Surrender your day to him. Lay your schedule at His feet; your projects at His feet; your expectations at His feet. Then humbly submit to God’s authority in your life. If the wheels fall off today, you know that God is watching over you to give you the patience you need to face the day. Stop and think about this, your Father gives you what you need, not always what you want. You are more important to God than anything you have to accomplish today. When you hit that bump in the road, stop and thank God. AND it’s okay to smile a bit because your Father is teaching you something.
