Day 7

It snowed today – beautiful white crystals covering the forest branches and blanketing the ground. Whenever it snows, I am reminded of one of the most exciting things about God. He makes all things new.

I look at the snow and it is untouched, unblemished. No one in the history of time has seen this exact makeup of water crystals in this exact pattern of connection before. It is new.

My children burst from our house laughing, wearing heavy jackets, hats, and gloves. They race into the unblemished white world, leaving footprints that are the first to touch it in all of history. They have no fear of the new. They are filled with the joy of adventure. I watch them ride snow saucers down the hills and realize this is how we get to be as followers of Christ.

Each day is new and God wants us to step out boldly into the adventure. We get to leave fresh footprints in brand new days the world has never before seen. We get to let God shape us into new, fresh creations each day as we become more like Him. Let’s trust Him to be with us in this adventure and step out in joyful abandon as he makes all things, including us, new creations.

Revelation 21:5 English Standard Version (ESV)
5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
